Narrative Game Designer
I’ve always loved creating for others. What started with writing stories and designing levels in Super Mario Maker and Fortnite Creative for friends slowly grew into something bigger. I began hosting my own Dungeons & Dragons campaigns set in worlds I built from scratch. and eventually, I took the leap into games and started studying Game Design at HKU.
Over time, I discovered that my true passion lies in crafting narrative experiences that stay with players long after the credits roll. The kind that make you reflect on how you live your life. Within narrative design, I’m especially drawn to worldbuilding and "show, don’t tell" storytelling.
I love weaving story into the environment, mechanics, and player interactions, allowing players to intuitively piece together the narrative without relying on (much) dialogue. This way, the story complements the gameplay rather than interrupting it, letting players stay immersed in the experience.
To support this approach, I’ve recently started diving deeper into UX and game feel, making sure that narrative elements enhance the gameplay, rather than get in the way of it.
Tools:
- Unity | Experience creating many different games
- Ren'py | Base understanding
- C# | Knowledge and ability to use the language effectively
- Python | Base knowledge of the language
- JavaScript | Base knowledge of the language
- Office | Efficiency with Word, Excel & Powerpoint
- Miro | Experience brainstorming & working out concepts
- Obsidian | Experience keeping documentation (Worldbuilding, notes, etc.)
When I’m not making games, you’ll probably find me playing them. I’m drawn to strategy games, narrative-driven adventures, and anything with a unique twist. Favorites include Inscryption, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Omori.
I also love getting lost in a good Dungeons & Dragons session, going on long walks, or just spending time with friends, whether we’re gaming or doing absolutely nothing in particular.
Take a look at my work and if you'd like to collaborate, talk story, or just share weird game ideas, I'd love to hear from you.
